Beef is the secret of our energy

Man accused for killing an animal, died followed by uproar.(पशुवाद के आरोपि की मौत , बवाल) given a headline by Umar Ujala a Hindi newspaper. Far away PM Narendra Modi on his visit of Ireland choose to start secularism in India. While in India, a Muslim man was beaten till death by bricks over a rumour that he had eaten beef.
The rumour was spread by a priest who declared from the temple that tha man, Mohd. Akhlaque had eaten beef & thereby hurts Hindu sentiments.
Cow slaughters in India is a historically a taboo subject, because of the cow's religious status i.e. गाय हमारी माता हैं cow has always been treated as a scared animal in Hinduism. On Oct 26 2005 the Supreme Court in a landmark judgement upheld the constitutional validity of anti-cow slaughter law enacted by different state government in India .
24 out of 29 state have various regulations for either prohibition or sale of cows. Kerala,West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim are the states where their is no restrictions. Prohibition of cow slaughters is a directive principle of state policy contained in Article 48 of the Constitution. It says that the state shall endeavour to organise agriculture and animal husbandry on modern & scientific lines.
Many illegal slaughters houses operate in large cities such as Chennai and Mumbai. As of 2004 there were 3600 legal and 30,000 illegal. India ranks 5th in the world in beef production, 7th in domestic consumption and 1st in exporting. In Maharashtra the leather business is said to have gone by nearly 90% after the ban on cow slaughter. As many as 1.5 lakhs people have lost their jobs in this period. Many leather making company's have shutting down.
The leather industry was already facing pressure from the environmentalist, 98 tenneries were closed in Kanpur alone. And also it is assumed that the leather will become more expensive and its quality surely will deteriorate. People of India are evoking religion in this argument.
Will people ever wake up, to understand the difference between Muslims who are tortured or sometimes killed by police as 'terrorist'. Will they ever understand that they are also humin beings like us. They also have their fundamental rights. Mohd. Akhlaque was brutally beaten till death because of a fake rumour. Now is the Government really going to a track on the no. Of time a people breath. Instead of addressing the core issues the government is trying to divert the minds of people by banning beef which will really not help the country's growth anyway.
